Day01 : Delhi
On arrival meet and assist at the airport and transfer to pre-booked hotel. India's capital & a major gateway to the country, contemporary Delhi is a bustling metropolis which successfully combines in its fold the ancient & the modern. Its strategic location was one of the prime reasons why successive dynasties chose it as their seat of power. New Delhi also reflects the legacy the British left behind. The division between New & Old Delhi is the distinction between the capitals of the British & the Moghuls respectively. So, wherever the visitor goes, he will invariably confront the city's past.
Day02 : Delhi
After breakfast, visit Old Delhi. Visit Jama Masjid, the largest mosque in India. Built by Shah Jahan, the construction was started in 1844 and was not completed until 1658; Red Fort, which was also built by Shah Jahan. This massive fort was built from 1638 to 1648; Chandni Chowk and Raj ghat - the cremation site of Mahatma Gandhi. Afternoon, city tour of New Delhi. Visit Humayun's Tomb : built in mid 16th century this is an early example of Mughal architecture ; Qutab Minar drive past India Gate, President House and other govt. buildings. The tour ends with a visit to Laxmi Narayan Temple (Birla Mandir).

Day03 : Delhi - Corbett
After breakfast, leave for Corbett. On arrival check in at pre-booked hotel. After lunch, a lecture by pool side on elephant and mahasher. A visit to The Corbett Foundation, a public charitable trust, devoted to conservation efforts at Corbett. A lecture on conservation and visit to interpretation center & Mahasher fish breeding pool. Thereafter, a nature walk in the reserve forest area which is rewarding to study the flora and bird life of Corbett. Corbett has 600 species of birds. Return for tea. In the evening, wild life movie. Dinner and overnight at the hotel.
Day04 : Corbett
Early morning after tea & cookies drive to Durgadevi with packed breakfast. This is from where the elephant safari tourcommences. The safari proceeds through the forests, breakfast will be served on the way in the dense forests. After breakfast safari continues towards Domunda, which is a merging point of two rivers i.e. Ramganga and Mandal rivers. Lunch break at Domunda where the hot lunch will be served. After lunch safari continues and will reach the forest rest house of Lohachowd. Chowds are grasslands and are rich in wild life and birds. Overnight at the rest house.
Day05 : Corbett
Early morning do a safari in the chowds. Come back to the rest house for a hot breakfast before commencing on the elephant safari once again. Today you pass though the lush green sal forests. Reach Maidhavan on river Mandal. Have hot lunch on the river site and after some rest, a short hike / jeep ride to reach the forest rest house of Kanda. This rest house is situated on the hill, which provides a fabulous view of the park, from a height. In the evening a short jeep safari can be done as evenings are rewarding in terms of wildlife sighting. Overnight at the rest house.
Day06 : Corbett
Early morning, along with packed breakfast, leave by jeep for a safari to Dhikala, Dhikala is the core area of the park very rich in wild life particularly in tigers, wild elephants, sambar, hog deer, mongoose etc and reptiles like gharial & crocodiles. Breakfast is had on the machan the watchtower, positioned over a water hole keep an eye on the water hole for the animals. Jeep safari in Dhikala area. Lunch in the forest rest house, After lunch drive through the forest to kanda to Lohachowd and then via durgadevi to the Resort. This drive again can be very rewarding. In the evening, wildlife movie followed by dinner. Overnight at the hotel/resort.

Day07 : Corbett - Delhi
After breakfast, free. Afternoon, leave for Delhi. Arrive Delhi and check in at pre-booked hotel.
Day08 : Depart Delhi
Transfer to the airport to board flight back home. |
